Movie Pitchers

Located in a former Colonial Buick complex. The Movie Pitchers was opened as a single screen on May 10, 1991 with a double bill program: Philippe Noiret in “Cinema Paradiso” & Julian Sands in “Warlock”. Food and drinks were available to purchase. Seating was provided in combinations of theatre seats, tables, chairs and sofas. It soon expanded to two screens, then three screens and finally four screens with a total seating capacity of 230-seats. The fouth screen was also used as a live theatre. It screened movies which would normally not get an airing in New Orleans.

It was closed on November 5, 2000 and was demolished. The site today is a fenced green space.
