Otto Polenske, who also operated the nearby Royal Theatre, opened Fort Frances' second movie theater, the Fort Theatre, on November 2, 1949 with Cary Grant in “I Was A Male War Bride” (unknown if extras added). It was a smaller theater than the nearby Royal Theatre, housing 495 seats with the building measuring 32x155ft. It was first managed by Otto’s son Fred Polenske.
Its closing date remains unknown.
