Ford Theatre

The town of Fordville had two movie theatres. Its Fordville Theatre was its silent-era venue and, when converted to sound, as the Medford Theatre (1929-1932) then the Roxy Theatre (1932) closing in 1937.

Its Ford Theatre was a post-War venue by Richard B. and Hulbert “Hub” Casement. The $20,000 Ford Theatre opened on March 19, 1948 with “Butch” Jenkins as “Little Mr. Jim.” It was still active into the 1960’s.

After disuse, it was purchased by DeLon Freije from Don Omdahl in 2010 and given a button-up restoration in 2014. It was used for local tours and housed toy trains in the 2020’s.
