Another old small town gem of a theatre, the Lyric Theatre opened in 1917 in downtown Park River seating 226. From the Colonial style front facade with its white railing along the rooftop the solid white triangular marquee. The lower facade is a red brick highlighting the white. A well apoointed lobby and auditorium sets the Lyric Theatre off in its red and dark tones.
It was closed in 2013, awaiting the purchase and installation of a digital projector. The Lyric Theatre was reopened July 3, 2014.

The Lric is open again. The Lyric Continues… The Lyric Theater has maintained its presence in Park River for many decades. After being closed for the first 6 months of 2014 the Lyric’s doors reopened on July 3rd. Many updates have been made to the Lyric. In 2014 The Lyric Theatre Today the lobby and bathrooms were gutted. The ceiling was raised to it’s original height. New handicap accessible bathrooms have been installed. Also a handicap accessible door was added to the entrance. Other new additions include newer seats which were purchased form the theater in Valley City, paint, and flooring, Work to the roof was completed the end of June 2014.
Many thanks go out to the fundraising committee members, donors, Concessions at the Lyric professional jobbers, and the many, many volunteers who worked tirelessly on bringing the Lyric back to life.
This should be changed to open.
