The Demachiza is a small theater showing choice foreign and Japanese arthouse films. It opened on December 28, 2017. One screen in the basement level (42 seats), one screen on the second floor (48 seats). Consistently 4+ screenings in a day and special events with invited directors and filmmakers. Screening capabilities: DCP, DVD, 16mm/8mm film.
The first floor is a bookstore-cafe. They serve good pasta and coffee. Book selection is all in Japanese and focuses on foreign and Japanese cinema history as well as some novels and short story collections.
