The Somerset Cinema I & II was in located in the Somerset Inn and opened June 27, 1973 with Lee Marvin in “Emperor of the North” & Burt Reynolds in “The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing”. There was a round box office in the hotel lobby, and after getting your ticket you then went down a very wide stairway into the cinema lobby. There was a wide candy stand straight ahead of you and left of that was the entrance to Cinema I, to the right of the stand was Cinema II. On May 25, 1978 a third screen was added. It was closed on March 25, 1984 with Zaide Sylvia Gutierrez in “El Norte”, Michael Caine in “Blame It on Rio” & Meryl Streep in “Silkwood”.

Opened with “Emperor Of The North Pole” at Screen 1 and “The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing” at Screen 2.
A third screen was later added on May 25, 1978 renaming it Somerset Cinema I, II & III and lastly known as Cinemas Somerset Inn a short time later.
The theater closed for the final time on March 25, 1984 with “El Norte” at Screen 1, “Blame It On Rio” at Screen 2, and “Silkwood” at Screen 3 as its last films.
