This 600-seat theatre opened in 1917 on Southern Boulevard at the corner of Jennings Street as the Royal Photoplays. During the late-1920’s, it was renamed the Bronx Playhouse. By the mid-1930’s, it was called the New Royal Theatre. Around 1940, it underwent a final name change, as the Radio Theatre.
Its movie house days long over, the former theatre housed an auto repair shop for many years. By 2011, it was the Jerome Redemption Center, a collection point for thrown-out rubbish. By 2021 it was a laundromat.

Great photo and great name.
As of October 2021, the building is Clean-Rite Center 24-hr laundromat. Nothing of the interior left, and the outside has been stuccoed and painted.
