The State Theatre opened on December 29, 1921.
December 28th, 1921 grand opening ad uploaded in the photo section for this theatre.
My great-grandfather O. S. Hathaway, owned the State and Stratton theaters in Middletown, NY. Back then they were vaudeville theaters. I have some paper memorabilia from those days. I don’t know if I have any information you don’t already have. But feel free to drop me a line if you like.
