The Ampere Theatre was opened on December 2, 1942. Have not personally seen this one. The theatre got its name from being located in the Ampere section of East Orange. Ampere came from the sprawling Crocker-Wheeler factory which manufactured electrical meters. The theatre was still in operation in 1950.

Listed in the 1951 FDY as having 442 seats.
The Ampere was s small, intimate therter… difficult to find as its entrance was off on a side street, and the theater had no marquee to give it identity. Last I kew, the building housed a fraternal orginaztio s like the elks or some such.
Opened (or reopened) on December 2nd, 1942. Grand opening ad posted.
