Opened prior to 1941, the historic Orpheum Theater in Kodiak operated as a single-screen movie house. It was closed in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It had reopened by 2022.

This photo is not the Orpheum, I don’t think. It doesn’t look too historic. The blogster said he saw the latest Star Wars film in Kodiak at this theater:

It is a photo of the Orpheum in Kodiak; here is another view. Perhaps all the original exterior detail was covered over by all that white siding.
Thre theater will be using digital projection as of 2013: View article

closed in 2020 With precautionary measures against coronavirus in place throughout Alaska, which among other directives mandate the shuttering of entertainment facilities until April 1, Kodiak’s 50-year-old movie theater is in danger of closing its doors for good.
The coronavirus mandate is just the latest in a series of unfortunate events, from an unusually harsh winter to rising movie prices, that have made it increasingly difficult for the Kodiak Orpheum Theatre’s owner, John “Rusty” Fletcher, to keep the long-standing business running.
