The Meramec Cinema I & II opened in 1982 seating 500. It was located in the shopping plaza on the South Outer Road of I-44.
The theatre was a red brick building with a white stucco trim around the roof line. The lobby was small with a small concession to the left as you enterred the theatre. The auditoriums were on the left and right of the lobby. The Meramec Cinema I & II was closed in 2002.

Great theater, and I miss it very much. Much better than the current theater, which is less charming by a ton and costs 3 times as much to visit. I can’t figure out how to edit info on here, but it was a part of the Kerasotes chain since about a year after it opened. It began as an independent one.
It was also haunted. I worked there for 3 ½ years until it closed.
The photos shown are not actually of the theater. That’s Hoods, which co-existed with the theater, and stands about 50 yards to the west. The original theater was a smaller building and colored differently, though it was built in the same style. The theater building was a restaurant for a few years, and then the building was demolished. An Aldi store now stands on the site.
