Each auditorium had a different pattern in design and featured stereo sound. Seats were staggered for great sight lines. Neon highlighted the large lobby.

I uploaded the grand opening ad from July 25th, 1986 in this theatre’s photo page.
Does anybody know what became of the twin screen in the mall? I believed it closed down in the early 90’s but I may be mistaken. I remember a lot of people were upset when it closed. I remember the last movie that played there was “The Firm. Is it still vacant or did the mall turn it into something else?
The Seminole 8 closed in February 2015, and the building was demolished in April as part of a redevelopment of the Seminole Mall into an open-air shopping center. A new 12-screen movie theater is planned, according to a news article.

The old Seminole 2 (AMC) was used in the filming of the AMC Midnight Movie Express trailer along with an auditorium at St Pete High School.

AMC sold off Seminole 8 to Entertainment Film Works sometime between July and November of 2001.
I’m betting that SunStar bought this theater from EFW around 2002
