- Aug 19, 2009 — Local set to remodel Gateway 8
The Gateway was originally planned as a six screen. Following the closing of the Queen, the Sandcastle and the Trolley North, the plans for the Gateway were revived and the theatre became an eight screen theatre.
It was opened on June 18, 1993 by Consolidated Theatres and was later taken over by Cinema Star Theatres. The independent Red Carpet Cinemas chain took over in January 2006.
It was renovated in early-2010, and was reopened by Cinemark. It was closed on January 17, 2023.

Per the January 2006 issue of “In Focus” magazine, this theater (along with Spanish Fork Movieplex, Five-Star Cinemas and Showcase Cinemas) has been acquired by “A new theatrical circuit dubbed Red Carpet Cinemas.”
Red Carpet Cimenas went bankrupt in October 09 and the theater is presently closed and has been stripped out. Cinemark Theaters has leased the property and plans on doing a full renovation. It was always a lousy theater so this will be welcomed by everyone in town!
Cinemark reopened this theater on Friday, April 30, 2010, changing the name to the Cinemark Bountiful 8.
It has been completely renovated with all-digital projection, at least one scrreen with 3-D capability, all new screens and seating and a newly enlarged concessions stand.
It is playhing first-run films.
