This is the closest drive-in to my home in Plano. Easy (but kinda long) drive as it’s a straight shot from 75 as it transitions into I-45. Love the low prices, the popcorn & it’s quite possibly the best digital projection I’ve ever seen at a drive-in! And I REALLY love the classic era pre-show and intermission reel!
The grounds could use a bit more attention in terms of upkeep but, with the traditional drive-in experience making a slow death march towards extinction it’s a necessary endurance to preserve a great spring & summer tradition!
Drive-in is now running 7 screens.
The sixth screen opened sometime in 2012. This Drive-in is all digital projection.
Mike Rogers.. (Sorry for taking so long as I just noticed your question. My Apologies)… No Sir. The Galaxy Drive In opened on Dec 17 of 2004 as the Galaxy.. A 6th screen is being built. It’s almost completed!
Now thats a nice marquee.
According to this drive-in’s website, they’re running “Thor” in 3D! THIS I gotta see!
Randy, this wasn’t called the Village Drive-in at one time?
Update! The 5th screen is going up! Should be up soon!! Possibly a 6th screen is in the plans as well. If so, I’ll keep ya updated.
