A good example is fight club, that movie in which they mention them as cigarette burns. Again, I’m off topic for awhile.

On the movietickets.com website, several movies have Digital Projection while others say Digital Presentation. Is there a difference between the two?

I wonder if Van Williams will be in the Re-make of the Green Hornet.I know this is off topic again.

yup. I’m not seeing that piece of junk, MikeRogers. There are quite a few 3D movies that won’t be in imax 3d, such as Tangled, Yogi Bear, and the Nutcracker movie, which is not doing quite well at the box office. After Harry Potter 2D IMAX comes Tron Legacy 3D in both formats. The next movie to come out after that run will be The Green Hornet, which was converted to 3D after being shot in 2D. The IMAX 3D version will be the IMAX DMR version of the film. Tron Legacy, however, will use IMAX 3D to the fullest as I saw in the trailers. Scenes that take place in the cyber world fill the IMAX screen.

One of you guys mentioned quite a few posts ago about 3-D movies and like anything goes for a buck.I grew up on “YOGI BEAR”,but come on, are they just throwing darts at movie titles on the wall.

I saw the 2d version jjd, and thought it was good. Would love to see it again when it’s available on netflix. I saw previews before Megamind….can’t wait for Kung Fu Panda 2 but not the Justin Bieber movie, not a huge fan of him.

Call me lucky, Mike…I was the only one in the theater today for Megamind 3D. No, Justin. I’m not a Harry Potter fan. Still haven’t gotten an answer to the question “Are the recently installed digital projectors 3D-capable or just certain ones?”

That is the ONLY WAY I catch a flick. If I am lucky not a soul in the theatre.

I agree. AMC should post prices for its food online, since they cost as much as the price of a ticket. JJD, are you planning on going to see the second-to-last Harry Potter movie? I plan on going to seeing it once the crowd dies down.

Looks like Megamind will be #1 again this weekend, buoyed by higher 3D prices. From what I saw half of it in 2D, it’s a good but not great movie. Harry Potter will crush Megamind and another new release starring Russell Crowe that will lower his popularity again when it opens this weekend. Too bad it’s only in two parts but they’ll save the 3D for Part 2 next summer, by then 3D prices will peak lol.

Just went to see “RED” at AMC. The only complaint I had was that the lights didn’t go down until a few minutes after the movie started. Otherwise, decent projection and very loud surround sound. Will probably come here again soon for “Harry Potter” in digital 4k and not IMAX Digital.

Thanks Justin.Prices will keep edging up.We all know it.I am happy i can go to our $2.00 Theatre and catch a movie.nothing to yell about, just a movie to watch. Most of the time a good print.

$17 is a ripoff for digital imax. Going to a real IMAX with that same price will be of good value and you’ll be able to see a sharper, vivid film-like image compared with the digital crap of today. Unless if its shot and shown in 4k.

Justin you seem to like Horror and Sci-fi,have you ever thought of a top ten favorite Sci-fi and Horror movies to play here.I did it at National Hills Theatre.Sorry,JJD about the increases.I still grin when I think how folks griped when we went to 2.75 a seat for first run in the middle seventies. The madness has not stopped, guys.

JJD

more price increases:
$17 for an evening IMAX…$17!
$10 for a morning RealD…cheapest!
stop the madness!

Happy Halloween!!! Among the scary movies playing at this theater, Paranormal Activity 2 (both in digital and digital IMAX), Legend of the Guardians 3D (with owls), Hereafter (about death), and Saw 3D: The Final Chapter, which will hit number one at the box office this weekend.

In 15 minutes…moviegoers who got free tickets will get their glimpse at the upcoming Tron Legacy movie in a 20 minute IMAX preview. I can’t wait for this movie.

looks like the two late showings for “Funny Story” are grayed out every day…must be due to technical difficulties.
