True Class…better read up on TIF because you are wrong. TIF does not impact sales tax at all….only property tax. The Business District sales tax is what you are thinking of.

So what has all this sniping got you? Nothing as usual. Demolition was decided on June 2 and all you guys have done in file a lawsuit. Meanwhile your rsc plan is outdated because construction was already to have begun. A guess (estimate?) would be about $100,000 increase in cost each month that goes by. Take into account rising interest rates and gasoline was $1.75 (costs passed onto the consumer) when this project was supposed to start, etc..

So we are 5 months over and even with your 6 month cooling off period (if granted) now another $1 million (give or take $100K). Plus the TIF would need to get passed and the variances need to get approved. Considering the plan was questionable (at best) in the first place, have you guys figured out where the rest of the Money will come from?

Taking all this into account we would be deep into 2006. So in reality do you still think this can be done. If so…How? (No sniping)

Jim,
Think of it in simpler terms, something you can relate to. Let’s just say you went to a comic book store at the newly restored DuPage Theatre and Shoppes. You purchased your favorite Captain america comic book at a price of $1. The clerk will actually charge you $1.06, give or take a penny. In a non-TIF district, the 6 cents sales tax would go to all of the applicable taxing bodies, including our school districts and our Park Districts. In a TIF district the money would go remain in the extablished TIF district to help pay for the restoration of the Theatre and Shoppes. Under the RSC plan, all of the sales tax for your comic books would continue to go back into the restoration and not to our schools, parks, etc….until the year 2024. What will eventually happen Jim, is that our property taxes will eventually have to be incrementally increased to keep up with the rising costs to run a village. If a more realistic, financially sound plan with a higher revenue yield were put on that parcel, we may not have to raise property taxes as much down the road. So there is your intervention.

To make matters worse, the theatre will generate very little sales tax anyway. S

You and your group are are all a bunch of liars and frauds.
You people lie your way out of the truth.
And I am not Devitt ,rey mazolini or anyone else who you want to steal their identity from.
BTW.“The village put ”$500K “into the theatre.”“Where?

All one has to do is hang around the parking lot at the DuPage theatre to figure out who I am…Nothing more than a taxpayer and a commuter who is sick of looking at the theatre and sick of listening to you guys and your failed attempts. You are all a bunch of frauds. 6:10 train pulls in at 6:45 p.m. Meet me there Devitt and we can talk about the theatre

The Truth .Yea.If your revelation is accurate then there is something wrong.Something is amiss
What is with this “identity ” thing these guys have?
Challenger again"What tax intervention"?
The key word is ……“What”.
The Truth. Are you rey mazolini,or restoration rita, ect. The list just keeps getting longer and longer. If they talk about someone’s identity then they don’t have to confront the “issues.” Nothing new there.
Talk about “identity theft.” This is ridiculous.

I for one, highly doubt it!!! I believe, Sebby’s bad temper and arrogance just got the best of him, as it has in the past. Now he’s trying to cover it up, but a wise person can see through his games…

Sorry there’s no revelation. I live in District 6, and am not a trustee. Just another attempt by the friends with their smear campaign. You can make more friends with honey than you can with vinegar.

TheTruth
TheTruth on October 27, 2005 at 9:25 am

Wow, what a revelation!!! The Trustee that is dead-set against the theatre project on here using an alias!! That would explain his having inside information from the beginning, as well as his hatred for the Friends and certain members. That is really, really pathetic! I hope the people who voted for him are proud of their Trustee!!!

For the hard of reading [challenger]
TIF rebates for the Lincoln Sq.condo/retail.Did you and your group say “No TIF no Lincoln Sq?” I didn’t hear any!
Sales tax “rebates” for the Lincoln Sq. retail. Did you and your group say"No sales tax rebates no Lincoln Sq"? I didn’t hear any.
TIF for a condo developer = apples
TIF for the theatre = apples.
If not then prove it otherwise.TIF is TIF.
Grants are grants. Also grants are not “applications”.Remember that “lie?”

boo hoo duper stupid….apples and oranges. What does the park district or norwood have to do with the theatre.

Smokescreens don’t work

raymond
raymond on October 27, 2005 at 8:18 am

Let us talk about the real issue.$1.5 million in TIF was “diverted” to pay for a park district maintance building thus avoiding the need for a referendum. No complaints from your group about that.Right.Why!
Wait a minute now.You looked into your little foggy crystal ball and it told you that the Lincoln Square retail will go nowhere ,so there is no need to say “no TIF no Lincoln Square"No rebates no Lincoln Square.
You guys are pathetic.Do you honestly think people believe your ridiculous logic?
Make no mistake about it.After the TIF district is extended for that downtown TIF, Norwood builders will fill their deep pockets at the "taxpayers” expense .

Hi hunny. Is class really that boring???

DuPageDude
DuPageDude on October 27, 2005 at 8:02 am

Does that mean as someone who pays Lombard TAXES I am entitled to a free room whenever I would like at the Westin hotel? At least before it goes belly up, leaving the Lombard TAXPAYERS high and dry, holding the bag?

Oh, I forgot, as well as my OTHER identities, I am also the warlus, koo koo ka chew!!!

The village has reportedly dumped over $500,000.00 into the theatre? Oh “really."
Where may I ask?
