By the way for the benefit of all you James Bond fans and especially you Daniel Craig fans, the Ziegfeld will have a special midnight screening of the new 22nd Bond Film, QUANTUM OF SOLACE at 12 midnight on Thursday, November 13th, 2008, the night before it’s regular scheduled release date which is Friday, November 14th. To my knowledge unless that I’m wrong, this is one of the few rare occasions that the Ziegfeld has a midnight screening of a new film. But I already got my ticket for that midnight screening and will certainly be there since the Ziegfeld is the best movie theatre to show Bond films!

I too was a frequent patron of the Two Boots Pioneer theatre since 2004 and I will certainly miss it when it finally closes after tomorrow’s farewell party at 6PM, which I will be there. In my opinion it was the best independent little single movie theatre in NYC and it was a miracle that it lasted almost 9 years since it’s opening in 2000, when it was not economically feaseable to open a new single movie house in this era of multiplexes. It will certainly leva a void in this area and that leaves only the Ziegfeld and Paris theatres as the only single movie theatres in Manhattan.
