The Box
Opened on Boxing Day 1921, with William Farnum in “If I Were King” , the Highbury Vale cinema had seating for 1100 people. It was modified to show talking movies in 1929, and equipped to show CinemaScope movies in 1955.The Highbury Cinema was closed on 31st March 1962 with Lawrence Olivier in “Wuthering Heights”.
