Exactly right on the Nuluna replacing the old Luna Theatre, Joe. I worked as an usher in the Nuluna in the late forties. It was a small theatre with only two aisles, seated about 200 and the only significant item was that the restrooms were located under the sidewalk in front of the theatre and had glass blocks on the ceilings to allow light in. This was really unique. The theatre was located next to a four story department store named “THE SHARON STORE” which in later years became a branch of Strouss-Hirshbergs of Youngstown,Ohio. Ken Ridgewood is incorrect. The building he is showing is the old Sharon Civic Center and has nothing to do with the old Liberty Movie Theatre. The Liberty Theatre was across the street from the building shown and currently is a two story building occupied by Hunter, Heiges and Gross, which is an architectural firm. Sorry, Ken, I don’t know where you got your wrong information.
