My Uncle used to manage the Chief in the 1960’s. I spend a lot of Saturdays there watching Clint Eastwood, James Bond and Frankie Avalon and horror movies there. When they shut it down he moved to the Admiral.
My cousin and my brother and I would sit near the back row and my Uncle would stop in and sit behind us. He would say the lines before the actors. Used to drive us nuts. But he was a great guy and I miss him still.
The theater was a great showplace. The screen was bigger than the mall places but it wasn’t one of the giant screens like Indian Hills or the old Fox.
