Photograph taken May 1932 showing the Gaumont restaurant. Of all the cinema restaurants in UK during the 1930’s Gaumont cinemas had nicely laid out restaurants with excellent service and meals. Eventually taken over by Odeon, who after WW2 standards remained high until their eventual closure, one of the last to close was the hugely popular Odeon restaurant Southampton in 1972.
