This came out on a Wednesday..
Appears as though a homeless family was living in the upstairs stock room a few years back, then they boarded it up really good.. kinda sad.
Its funny how little attention “Halloween” got. it only played here for a week…
Appears that the last year was 1981,, couldn’t find any further ads after 1981..
Hey, PSMITH1983, yeah, lot of history here,, appeared to be some homeless family living in there last year or so. I quess they got tired of people going in and out so they closed every possible way in or out. It’s funny the owners of the property just leave this up as some kinda historic relic. But closed since late sept 1980!
last showing “The Exterminator” Sept 19th 1980.
looks like they actually cleaned the front walkway there..
I think a family was living inside of there last year, and now its completely boarded up..This place has been passed through over the years, at one point, you could just walk right in . It appeared as though someone was living in the upstairs room where the projection booth was…
Theres a guy in the comment section who said they started working on the church in late November 1980. and it closed by 1983… great find. sat empty till 1987 when they tore it all down..
This only lasted like one week I think..
Yes indeed, this played there a long time. and was finally replaced by Gigolo and then cruising..
wow, never knew this played here. by 1979 the theater was starting to decline , wish it could have held on longer.. Do you have any pictures of the cinemart in its prime,, would love to see what it looked like in the late 70’s
Saturday… a day after my birthday. I just turned 6
Was this an actual concert??
quess they didn’t have matinees in the afternoon during the week.
This played here for the entire summer of 1978…
wow, good story…There was a story about someone who broke in around 75 and stole the safe.
Awesome flashcat. love to talk cinemart with you, I added the second half of its life specially the last few years before closing…
This was a Tuesday night..
The island played here for at least 3 weeks. on it’s last week was double billed with “Jaws” which also played here in July of 79.
cool.. imagine this was there the week before, or after Caligula..
wow, this is an awesome find….
Lots of porn played here…
Played here for a whole month…..during it’s last year..1980..
Hey flashcat. so glad your putting these earlier ads of the cinemart on here. I did most of half its life till the end.. So cool , love talking about this theater. I believe a family of homeless people live inside now..
