Billy Fury at the ABC Minors

The Manager of the ABC Wallasey, Mr W (Bill) Roberts, was my late dad. Dad passed away in January 1977, and cinema, theatre and the arts were his everything. I and my sister have such memories of this cinema and the people dad came to regard as his second family. Mr Terry Jones on the right, was a very good friend of dads and went on to manage the Liverpool Empire for a while, before emigrating to I think, Australia. So happy to find this picture, and the other two of the foyer. Memories came flooding back and I actually have the triangular ABC Cinemas sign with dads name on it – just visible on the right side wall at the top of the steps – on display in my house. I was only twelve when this cinema closed, but remember loads vividly. If there are any more pics of my dad or this cinema out there then my sister and I would love to see them. Thanks, Terry.
