Another aside: it’s officially located in Los Angeles.

Ohhh, it’s that drab office building near the Burger King. I’ve been in there, and it’s hard to believe it was a theater once.

You guys seems to know a lot about adult theaters. I recall passing by a theater near the corner of La Brea and Pico with “XXX – In Back” above the door. I was about 15 at the time, and it intrigued me that adult films could be shown in a theater atmosphere.

Anyway, my question: what is the theater called? Going north on La Brea, one would make a left on west Pico and the white theater building is on the left side.

My mistake, the Centinela was located in Westcheser, near the west end of Inglewood.

No, the Centinela Theatre was a drive-in (now apartment complex) on Centinela Ave. in north Inglewood.

As for this La Tijera theatre turned office building, I’ve never seen it! I’ve been all over the cities near LAX and can’t recall ever seeing that on Centinela and La Tijera. I guess I’ll have top stop by sometime.

Oh yea, it’s still there. The paint ‘n such are obviously in bad shape, but the structure is still intact.

Wow… I can’t believe the three stooges were actually in that theater. It’s going to blow my friends away when I tell them.

I actually just passed by the place and it’s been boarded up to match the “new and improved” Market St., and it’s STILL the best-looking building on the street! Ah, good times.

It was a sad day when I noticed this theater was gone. Though I only saw one film there when I was a kid (some werewolf flick), we used to always pass it on the way to the Fox Hills Mall. It was a welcomed site in a world of McDonald’s and megaplexes.
