Manager George Schmidt arranged a special showing at the Strand of this film for the Ku Klux Klan then headquartered in Atlanta. Afterwords, he then arranged to have ten hooded horses and horsemen appear at twilight at the theatre to promote the film and its message. Movie exhibition magazines in 1921 suggested that the campaign was effective but that operators in other markets should be “using their own judgment” as to whether such a campaign would work in their city. Indeed… a sobering time.
