In April 1953 the entire student body of my PUBLIC grammar-junior high school were marched a few blocks to the nearby Johnston Theatre in Johnston, RI to watch a special screening of the movie “The Prince of Peace,” a B-film production based on the life of Christ. I was eleven. Could any public school in America today get away with what amounts to promoting a specific religion?
