This theatre came back with its fourth operator and it’s most lavish with a $185,000 makeover by Associated Theaters Inc. It launches as the El Cerrito Cinemas with “Excalibur” and “Alice in Wonderland” on June 26, 1981. Less than a year later, the theater was down for the count.
