This photograph taken in June 1938 just after the opening of the Embassy cinema, here you can see both Shipman & King cinemas together just 100 yards apart and yet to come during 2nd World War the queues that were to form outside both cinemas supplemented by conscription from the naval Barracks the nearest being HMS Collingwood, just 10 minutes ride on the National Provincial Bus that ran between Fareham and Gosport. Like the cinemas long gone.
