Cartoon photograph of W. Southern Morris Managing Director of S.M. Super Cinemas Ltd., the Ritz became the largest of the four cinemas in Birkenhead owned by S.M. Super Cinema chain. The S.M. Organisation started with one cinema in 1936 and by 1947 were the largest Independent Circuit in the country with a total of 60 cinemas.
