It might be faulty mythology – Bellerophon and Pegasus the winged horse were the classic heroes – but is undeniably decorative. Greek born Spyros Skouras controlled Twentieth Century-Fox at the time that the Plaza was built. He was responsible for the decoration of many new theatres and restorations which used a modernized rococo style. It was derided by many but I, for one, like it.
