Located on South Brand Boulevard between Colorado Street and E. Chevy Chase Drive. The Vogue Theater had a very flashy and colorful night-time marquee. It was opened on November 11, 1941 with “Charley’s Aunt” & Mickey Rooney in “Life Begins for Andy Hardy”
It was closed in the early-1950’s and the now heavily altered building is today a Nissan car dealership.

This theatre was located at 735 South Brand Boulevard.
The architect of the Vogue was Paul Hartman, according to the announcement (in Southwest Builder and Contractor of July 11th, 1941), that he had begun the working drawings for the theater. There were to be 900 seats, and the cost was given as $30,000. The owner was John W. Lawson, the theatre was to be leased to Grover L. Smith, and the contractor was to be John T. Bibb. The address (before construction) was given as 733 S. Brand Boulevard.
Here is a 1940’s photo of the Vogue Theater. A link to Cinematour:

Here’s the full view of the photo Cinematour has, which is from the Dorothy Peyton Gray Transportation Library and Archive, some of which is now available at Flickr.
I’m not convinced that it’s been demolished. LALife.com says that the auto body shop at 737 Brand Blvd that’s part of the car dealership was built in 1941. I think that’s the Vogue, or what’s left of it.
-DB is apparently right. The L.A. County Assessor’s report says that the building at this address was built in 1941, with an effective build date of 1955 (which would thus probably be the year the building was converted to another use.) But the differences between the 1940s photo and the current Google Street view are so drastic that I doubt there is anything left of the Vogue Theatre but the building’s shell.
The front of the building is currently an automobile showroom for Glendale Nissan, and the auditorium is apparently used for support services and probably some office space, given the way the doors cut into the sides are configured.
I’ll try to take better photos of it, but check out the pointy roof of the Nissan building and compare it with the Vogue! That’s it!
