The Liberty opened in the 1920's and served the predominately Polish Community through the 1950's. It went through a remodel in 1936. During the 1950's with television and lack of parking caused a decline in attendance and the theatre closed in 1959.
It became a furniture store in late 1959 and went through a number of owners until early 1990. It was purchased by a Korean business man who turned it into a discount variety store.
