Located in the Muirend district on the South Side of the city. The Toledo Cinema was designed by architect William Beresford Inglis. It opened on 2nd October 1933. A year after opening it was taken over by Associated British Cinemas(ABC) who operated it for the remainder of its life (apart from the last couple of years when the Cannon Group took over). It was tripled in 1982 and closed in October 2001.
On 9th January 1991, Historic Scotland had designated the former Toledo Cinema a Grade B Listed building. It was listed on the Buildings At Risk Register. Sadly it was demolished and only the façade remains today as the front of a block of flats.
