Rex Theatre opened November 1937, the building was originally a furniture store. The theatre was open until the mid-1970's. Once the theatre closed the building went through several renovations, but to date has not been reopened.

The Rex was operated by Paramount and then by ABC Mid South. Looks like it was used for concerts during the 1980's from the AC photo. From the latest photo link that LM posted it looks like the exterior has been restored.
