My father was city manager of the El Paso, Del Norte and Bordertown drive-in theaters in El Paso, Texas from 1957 until 1965.

Roadside Peek has some photos of a Bronco Drive-In in El Paso. I'm not adding any more drive-ins, so it's up for grabs if anyone's inclined. There are a couple of nice photos on the RSP website.

I grew up in El Paso and recall the drive-ins fondly. Bronco, Ascarate, Bordertown (I ran a business right across the street behind CharBurg), Rocket out on Dyer St., Del Norte (closest to our house...).

And being military dependent, numerous theaters located on post. Some very large, some super small (Logan Heights).

Mike, are you sure about the year on the opening date? I have found three different palces that state the year was 1948.
