DuBois Opera House

The DuBois Opera House opened on November 1, 1870. It was destroyed in a fire in 1886. A new opera house replaced it in 1887. The Grand Theater opened around 1910. After the Grand Theater was destroyed, it was replaced by the Rialto Theater. Couldn't this listing be combined with the Rialto Theater in Elgin which is already listed
here. If not, you can use the Rialto address for this listing.

I wouldn't think that this building would be listed under the Rialto because the DuBois was a totally different building.

In that case, the Grand Theater isn't the same building as the 1870 DuBois Opera House and it should have its own listing instead of an aka name above. All I'm suggesting is, instead of individual listings for each theater at this location, it would be easier to put all of this informaton in the description for the Rialto Theater.

Actually, when the original DuBois Opera House burned down in 1886, it was rebuilt using the same name but was later changed to the Grand. So the DuBois Opera House that I have listed and the Grand Theater are the same building.
I suppose I could have listed it as "The Grand Theater" but the reason why I chose to list it as the DuBois Opera House is because that is what most of the people in Elgin refer to it as.

I suppose it wouldn't be a problem if this information was listed under the Rialto, but I still think it would be better to leave it as is since it is a different building.

Okay, I see your point. The information that I found on these theaters was not very clear about the Grand Theater being the same building as the second Opera House. Thanks for the explanation.
