Located in downtown Las Vegas, the 4 Star Theatre became an adult movie house before it was closed and demolished by the city.

This was owned by David Friedman, who had co-founded the Pussycat theater chain and who built this theater from scratch as an adult movie house after he had sold his interest in Pussycat theaters to Vince Miranda. It closed sometime in the early 1990's, likely due to declining business.

This was the FOUR Star Theater. ;-)

My family and I saw the Clint Eastwood trilogy, "Fistful of Dollars," "For a Few Dollars More" and "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly," back in about '69 or '70. My ex husband and I visited a couple of times after it changed 'format.' It was the only adult theater that wasn't a 'mini'... It was full size, full-screen, and attracted good-size crowds - lots of Japanese businessmen traveling along and with their wives/female partners.

Yep... And it's the same one referred to as "Five Star" here. The original poster has the wrong name for it. :-)

I remember that theater too. It wasn't very big and I remember seeing the movie "Hell In The Pacific" (1968) with Lee Marvin. Not to long after that the theater turned into a xxx rated joint.

Not sure if this is the right theatre for this page or not. 5 Star, 4 Star, seems there is a difference of opinion as to what is the right name. So heres is a 1982 photo of the 4 Star Theatre. As you can see from the marquee at the time of the photo it was an XXX rated movie theatre.

Chuck....I would go with 4 Star. I haven't found any information for a 5 Star Theater.

The 1995 IMPA still lists this theater as the Four Star Theater at 112 North Fourth Street.
