The Paramount opened in Kamloops in 1955 and was later twinned in 1979.

Famous Players owned the theater from 1955 to 1989 and was taken over in 1990 by Kamloops Theatres. Landmark Cinemas of Canada took over the theater in 2000.

I didn't attend this theatre during my visit to Kamloops back in '95, but the city is so small that I doubt you'll have much problem finding it once you get there. The citizenry of Kamloops are predictably gracious.

Here is a 1986 photo of the Paramount Theatre.

There was also a Odeon Theatre in Kamloops, does anyone have info on that theatre?

Hi all, I am new to the site and looking for help. I am a researcher on a book dealing with cinema in British Columbia. I would love to include reminiscences about specific theatres, photos, or any information about how film and theatres in general affected your life and/or community. This would include rented films, documentaries from libraries, as well as local theatres or film study groups. Any information you would like to share would be most welcome.

Anyone interested can contact me at edenmaddie@yahoo.ca

Thanks for sharing your love of movies!
