Winson Green Picture House

Located in the northwest Birmingham district of Winson Green, on the corner of Winson Green Road and Wellington Street, opposite the entrance to Winson Green Prison. The Winson Green Picture Palace opened in 1914. It was always under independent ownership.

It closed on 21st March 1959 with Richard Attenborough in "Sea of Sand" and "Suspended Alibi". The building was subsequently demolished and today an auto repair shop G.B. Vehicle Mainainance & Repair operate from the site.

Just Before WW2 Hurley Robinson was comissioned to design a new Theatre, But the start of the War stopped any ideas…..

I suggest looking at the Regal Evesham as they are rather similar
