The Avenue Theatre was located on Howard Avenue in downtown Biloxi. A first run house, it opened in the 1940's and operated into the 1970's. The Avenue Theatre, like the Don Theatre in Gulfport, had stadium type seating, with only a few rows up front of the stage with a sloped floor area. It was sold by its owner to Gulf States Theatres who closed it around the time they opened the Surf Side Twin Cinema.

The Avenue was orginally operated by the Meyer family, merchants in Biloxi, who also operated the Meyer and Harlem Theatres.
