The Reynolda Cinema was one of the three area theatres in the Winston-Salem that operated under the Stewart & Everett Theatre chain. This theatre operated as a single screen theatre and later on during the mid-1970's added on a second auditorium, making it a twin cinema.

Later on in the early-1980's, the original auditorium was split down the middle, adding on a third auditorium.

Is the name Reynolda or Reynola? There is a listing for a Reynola Cinema at 2839 Fairlawn Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106

The theatre was located in the Reynolda Manor Shopping Center at the intersection of Fairlawn Drive and Slias Creek Parkway on the northern end of the city. It was operated under the Stewart and Everett Theatre chain and later on was owned and operated under the Martin Theatres chain and later by Carmike Cinemas.

The former theatre is now the Renolda Manor Branch Library. Hardly changed at all in looks from Cinema to Library.

The library kept up the original poster displays that used to greet patrons at the entrance to the theatre. I believe I only attended this theatre once in the early 90's to see the Julia Roberts-Nick Nolte starrer 'I Love Trouble.' I remember one of the last movies they showed before closing was 'The Glimmer Man.'
