The Boulevard Theatre opened in 1948 with a seating capacity of 1,100.

Later sub-divided into 6-screens, it was last operated by Regal Cinemas as Movies 6 until the 1990's. After it closed, Regal Cinemas donated the building to Wicomico Arts Council. They intended to operate the building as a performing arts centre but failed to raise funding.

The building was sold and was demolished in late-April 2009.
