Early in 1907 Hoyt and Ruby Kirkpatrick opened the the Happy Hour Theater. It got off to a very good start but due to their inexperience they began loosing hold of the theater and sold out to Henry Bertram early in 1908, who kept them on as trusted employees. Bertram closed the Happy Hour Theater permanently in 1909.
