The Canyon County Historical Society says that the Liberty Theatre opened in 1919 in the Waddell building using equipment, which was purchased from the closed Unique Theatre, located at another Nampa location. The society's literature mentions an Orpheum Theatre, which was actually Nampa's first picture house and was in business until about 1925.

For years the Liberty Theatre was the best place to go until the remodel of the local Majestic Theatre in the 1930's. The exact date of the name change to the Adelaide Theatre is unknown but in 1946, the Idaho Daily Statesman movie page had it listed under the Fox banner, along with the local Majestic Theatre and the American Theatre in Caldwell.

Information found at the historical society says the Adelaide Theatre closed in the late-1950's. Today the location is a parking lot. The Canyon County Historical Society, located in the old train depot has more information and photos of Nampa's old theaters.
