Erected in 1900, and named after the second Broadway theatre in New York City, the Casino Theatre, Vandergrift's Casino Theatre is the town's showpiece. The League of Historic American theatre's, lists the Casino Theatre as the fourth oldest operating theatre in Pennsylvania.

The Casino Theatre showed its last movie in 1981 and remained dark for more ten years after. Re-opening in 1995, I first saw the theatre in around 1996 but didn't see the interior until around 1998. Many projects were still on going at this time although much had been completed.

The theatre still has an orchestra pit and at one time the theatre organ was located in the pit. There's a good size balcony.
