Craig, please keep us posted. My father worked there as a projectionist in the 60’s and very early 70’s.

I lived across the street from the Fords Theater in the 1940’s and went there every time the picture changed. Back then it was $.25 admission and the movies were Roy Rogers or Gene Autry. I met my future husband there when he had a broken seat and I kept kicking it. We are now married 59 years thanks to the Fords Theater. My father owned JR’S Tavern prior to its present name.

Just read scheduled for demolition Feb 5, 2023 building has fallen in such disrepair it could not be salvaged.

From my recollection the proprietors were Mr. George Lang and his wife Anna.

My father was a projectionist here in the 60s. Youn are correct about the Langs. I remember always hearing that name. In the late 60s/early 70s Fernando Bravo operated it along with the Royal in Perth Amboy.

Demolition has begun on the front facade. I was told by one of the workers that the Auditorium will be torn down next week.

Numerous posts and video on social media, 17 Fed. 2023 interior has been gutted and heavy machinery is pulling the structure down from the rear. Sad the demolition started in the stage area that once hosted Vaudeville acts.
