The Rees, a beautiful Art Moderne style single-screen movie house, is located on Michigan Street in downtown Plymouth. The theater seats about 400, and opened in 1939. The Rees was constructed in a much older building which originally housed, among other businesses, a funeral parlor.

In 1997, the Rees was restored, including the spectacular marquee, with its chase lights and colorful neon. For its reopening after the restoration, it screened the first movie it ever showed, "Gone With the Wind". The Rees continues to operate today as a first-run movie house.
