The Frontenac Theatre opened in 1912, seating over 800 and located on Harper Avenue at Frontenac Street.

The theatre was renamed the Ace Theatre in 1939 (around the time it got an Art Moderne style remodel) and continued to operate until the early-1950's. It later housed a church.

The Art Moderne remodeling of the Ace Theatre was the work of architect Ted Rogvoy. It was pictured in an article in the April 1, 1950, issue of Boxoffice, along with two more recent remodeling projects by Rogvoy. The article dated the Ace project to "...just before the war...."
