Located on Kapowski Road just south of North Avenue. A very striking front facade almost in a Spanish style. The main structure over the front entrance rises above the two story building with the Loews emblem in two places. It features a 1920’s style marquee over the main entrance with no attraction panels. There are Corinthian style columns along the front entrance.
This former Loews house features stadium seating, indoor box office, large concessions areas featuring expanded menus, assistive listening devices, a game room, cafe/restaurant, and Dolby Digital sound.

Digital,Digital,Digital,big deal.Whats wrong with 35 mm film?
If this were facebook, and I’m sure glad it isn’t – I would hit the “like” button on that comment.
I think some people on here work for DCIP or AMC the way they talk up digital non-stop, truthfully I couldn’t care less, from a consumer end if it’s not in 3-D it really doesn’t make that much of a difference provided the theater has good operations in its booth. And if they don’t – then digital or 3-D you should go elsewhere.
Those digital projectors in multiplexes have done nothing aside from brining programed content like concerts and events, for independent cinema. Then again IFC and its cinema probably have no interest in exploring delivering indie films this way and smaller distributers don’t have the clout. It would take a distributer with a vested interest in the future of theatrical exhibition to launch a program that would make using those digital projectors actually matter, not the micro distributer sending a DVD of an obscure documentary for a screening room in the basement of an art gallery.
Thanks John, newer and inproved is not always better. Thanks again
speaking of facebook, jersey gardens has its own page….facebook.com/jerseygardens. I first noticed it when I was browsing through Lucky magazine. Back when Jersey Gardens 20 opened, there were two theaters in Newark. Now there’s one owned independently and thriving in inner Newark. The thing I like about this theater is the outside, which hasn’t changed since AMC took over in 2006. Also, how large is the mini-Imax at Jersey Gardens?
going all digital in june
That’s great news, Slimshady. That’s means more 3-D and 2-D movies along with the liemax.
avatar 3d directors cut coming this weekend in liemax and 3d.
The Loews Jersey Gardens was designed by the New York City-based architectural firm David Rockwell & Associates.
all screens now digital.
Since I last spoke, this theatre once again has competition from neighboring Newark.
