Odeon Theatre 283 Bourke Street, Melbourne, VIC - Grand Re-opening advert 1951

The Liberty theatre was destroyed by a fire in October 1950 and a new theatre was built within the shell, re-opening as the Odeon Theatre on November 2, 1951 with Michael Redgrave in “The Browning Version”. The theatre closed forever in February 1978.
